The Steelers have been predicted to trade for Titans quarterback Will Levis

The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering the 2026 NFL Draft with a major question mark at quarterback. Future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers is still deciding on whether or not he wants to return for the upcoming season, leaving the Steelers without a clear answer at the most important position in the game of football. As a result, they are expected to use one of their 12 selections in the upcoming draft on a quarterback.

The main issue for Pittsburgh when it comes to this line of thought is that, besides Indiana Hoosiers star Fernando Mendoza, there aren’t many star quarterback prospects available in this draft class. With that in mind, NFL analyst Ben Solak of ESPN believes that the Steelers could hit the trade market and bring this overlooked former second-round pick to town.

Steelers Linked to Potential Will Levis Trade

@JasonMcCourty Steelers like those big-bodied traditional passers so I’m looking there. Panthers and Packers QB2 jobs are open too.

As of right now, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard are the only two quarterbacks on Pittsburgh’s depth chart. Of course, Rodgers could still potentially return, but even if he does, the Steelers are eventually going to need someone who can come in and be the team’s quarterback of the future once he does eventually decide to call it a career.

With so few top-tier options available in the draft, Pittsburgh could look to the trade market for some help at the quarterback position. One guy who could be a target for the team is Will Levis, who lost his starting job with the Tennessee Titans to Cam Ward in 2025. Levis missed the entire season with a shoulder injury anyway, so he’s a bit of a question mark right now.

Levis has a cannon for an arm, and while he is lacking in other areas of his game, he could be a solid developmental prospect for the Steelers. In a lot of ways, Levis is a forgotten man in the NFL currently, but Solak believes that he could wind up being dealt once the 2026 draft gets underway later this week.

“Steelers like those big-bodied traditional passers so I’m looking there. Panthers and Packers QB2 jobs are open too,” Solak said in a post on X when asked by former NFL cornerback Jason McCourty where he thinks Levis could land if he does wind up getting traded.

Should the Steelers Trade for Will Levis?

While he didn’t play at all last season, Levis made 21 starts over his first two seasons with the Titans. During his time on the field, Levis was inconsistent at best, as he looked like a future star at times, only to turn around and make a slew of mind-boggling plays. When all is said and done, though, his numbers show that he has some upside that could be tapped into (339/556, 3,899 YDS, 21 TD, 16 INT, 70 CAR, 240 YDS, 1 TD).

Rudolph and Howard aren’t exactly an inspiring quarterback duo, so it wouldn’t hurt to take a flier on Levis. The Titans would likely only be looking for a late-round draft pick in exchange for him, and with Pittsburgh having 12 picks at its disposal, that is a deal the front office would likely be more than willing to make. Levis may not be on many folks’ radars right now, but he could very well find a new home in the NFL over the next few days.
