But according to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, he simplified it.

“We’re friends.”

That response, first reported by Forbes, erased the expected tension. Soler even went further, suggesting Weiss was not acting out of aggression.

“I think he was trying to protect me.”

That changes everything.
