Following a run with the Golden State Warriors, Ömer Yurtseven is planning for a move outside of the NBA.

According to BasketNews, Yurtseven is in “advanced talks” to sign with Real Madrid.

His most recent stint in the NBA was spent with the Warriors. Back in March, the Warriors dealt with a concerning number of injuries, calling for more depth in the front court on a temporary basis.

Yurtseven earned a 10-day contract with the Warriors. Once that duration was up, the Warriors gave Yurtseven another 10 days with the team. Following the expiration of that deal, the Warriors moved on.

With the Warriors, Yurtseven appeared in nine games off the bench. He averaged 11.6 minutes on the court. The veteran center made 42.3% of his shots, producing 3.8 points per game. He also came down with 3.3 rebounds per game.

The Turkish center came to the states to play for NC State in the NCAA in 2016. After the 2017-2018 season, he attended Georgetown.

Following his third season in college, Yurtseven went for the NBA. The Turkish center went undrafted. He played in the G League and overseas before finally making an NBA roster in 2021. Yurtseven’s NBA career started with the Miami Heat.

During his rookie effort, Yurtseven played in 56 games, picking up what remains his career-high in starts, with 12 games. After two years with the Heat, Yurtseven joined the Utah Jazz in 2023-2024.

Following his run with the Jazz, Yurtseven had a playing stint in Greece with Panathinaikos. He returned to the US to play for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (Houston Rockets G League affiliate), before the Warriors gave him a call.
