On Sunday, the New York Mets lost both of their games to the Colorado Rockies at Citi Field.
They also got swept 3-0 in the series.
Juan Soto had one hit, three walks and two strikeouts combined in the two games (on Sunday).
SNY Mets wrote: “The Mets have been swept at home by the Rockies and hold the worst record in baseball at 9-19”

There has been a lot of rumors about the future of manager Carlos Mendoza.
After Sunday’s games, Soto was asked for his thoughts on the situation.
Soto (via SNY): “This is not Mendy’s fault or David’s fault. They definitely put a great team together. We have to be the ones that gotta go out there and perform… I think he’s been doing a great job as a manager… It’s not his fault at all.”

At the very least, those are strong words coming from the team’s star player (and face of the franchise).
It’s unclear how much longer the Mets will stick with Mendoza if the losing continues.
Will Sammon of The Athletic wrote: “The Mets (9-19) are a season-worst 10 games below .500. They lost both games of a doubleheader today against the Rockies, scoring a total of one run. This season, they’ve scored less than two runs in a game 10 times.”

Soto had missed 15 games after suffering an injury earlier this month.
He returned to action on April 22 (after getting hurt on April 3).
Right now, the four-time All-Star is batting .304 with 14 hits, one home run, five RBI’s and three runs in 13 games.
Chelsea Janes of SNY wrote: “I don’t think firing Carlos Mendoza fixes the Mets’ problems, but I do think the Mets need to try something drastic to try to fix their problems. Firing Mendoza would be change for change’s sake. And the Mets have played so badly, I can see why even that feels justifiable.”

The Mets are at the bottom of the National League East with a 9-19 record in 28 games.
They have gone 5-10 in the 15 games they have played at home.
After the Rockies, the Mets will remain at Citi Field to host the Washington Nationals.
Last season, they missed the 2025 MLB playoffs (after reaching the 2024 NCLS).
