Pittsburgh Steelers fans and other social media users shared their frustrations with the latest contradicting offseason reports with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Anytime the situation with Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers appears to get clearer this offseason, it has often become murkier than ever again. That has happened again during the Steelers rookie minicamp weekend.

The 93.7 The Fan’s Morning Show reported Thursday the quarterback was visiting the Steelers this weekend. Radio hosts Adam Crowley, Pat Bostick and Dorin Dickerson added that Rodgers was set to sign his 2026 contract with the team.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport collaborated that report. On Thursday, both Dulac and Rapoport posted on X that Rodgers would visit the Steelers.

However, Steelers insider Mark Kaboly threw a big bucket of cold water on that reporting.

“From everything I can gather, there is no meeting scheduled or expected between Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers,” wrote Kaboly on X. “I’ve reached out to a couple inside the building and nobody has seen him yet.”

The Steelers insider posted that update at 11:54 AM Friday. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed Kaboly’s report, adding he wasn’t aware of any scheduled meeting between Rodgers and the team.

As of early Saturday morning, there still hasn’t been any sign of Rodgers in Pittsburgh this weekend.

It likely goes without saying. But Steelers fans on social media Friday afternoon and Saturday morning were not pleased with the latest conflicting Rodgers updates.

@MarkKaboly @ThePoniExpress Dear Aaron Rodgers, You’re not as important as these over the top minute by minute updates indicate. Pittsburgh doesn’t care if you return or not because the franchise is actually better off not paying you $20 million and finishing 4-13 with Rudolph and the young QBs. You showing

@MarkKaboly @ThePoniExpress Clean out his locker and put his junk on the curb. Hey Rooney2, it’s time to move on. Stop striving for mediocrity!

@MarkKaboly @ThePoniExpress This guy is the biggest diva in the history of the NFL. He’s 43 years old and does this shit. Maybe his fake wife came with him too. He also can’t play very well for sustained periods anymore. Just let Mason/Howard start the season

@MarkKaboly He is probably mad now that it was announced he was coming in.

@MarkKaboly Once a meeting happens in person the Steelers should tell him to F off in person and start Mason.

Steelers Fans Showing Frustration With Aaron Rodgers

To write the Rodgers situation has frustrated Steelers Nation would be putting it mildly.  A lot of fans are downright angry. They voiced those feelings after Kaboly cast significant doubt that the quarterback would actually see the team this weekend.

Fans don’t run sports teams. If the Rooney family listened to the fan base, or even the media, with every significant decision they have made over the years, the Steelers very likely wouldn’t have experienced near the amount of success that they have.

But clearly, the good will the organization has built over decades has run out for some fans, at least with the Rodgers topic.

On social media, some fans argued, rather than re-sign Rodgers, the team should accept a worse 2026 record to emphasize developing the young quarterbacks on the roster. Other fans just voiced annoyance over the fact Rodgers won’t make up his mind or doesn’t want to announce his 2026 decision.

The longer Rodgers remains unsigned, the more angry Steelers fans are likely to become.

It will be interesting to see if that impacts the quarterback’s decision at all. If he signs in June like last year, he could be coming to a city that doesn’t really want to welcome him back.

Omar Khan’s Latest on Aaron Rodgers Talks

While Rodgers has done the Steelers no favors for the second straight offseason, one could also clearly argue the organization has mishandled the quarterback’s 2026 free agency.

Telling everyone that Rodgers will decide by a date and then seeing that date pass without a decision from the quarterback is a big source of the anger in the Steelers fanbase.

On Friday, Steelers general manager Omar Khan’s honesty likely ignited more frustration.

I don’t know where specifically Aaron is,” Khan said while appearing on the You Better You Bet podcast. “You know, I can tell you that Aaron and I, and Coach [Mike McCarthy] and Aaron and Aaron’s representatives, we’ve had some good conversations since the season ended and since Mike got here and it’s been positive.”

Khan stressed the conversations continue to be positive. But the GM made no mention of a meeting to finally come to terms on a contract with Rodgers.

Obviously, there’s a disconnect in the media on what’s actually happening between the Steelers and Rodgers this weekend. And really, that’s why fans are mad.

Rodgers is entitled to sign whenever he wants. But Steelers fans are entitled to their feelings. This May, a lot of them appear tired of the “talking” updates.
