CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA - MARCH 26: Head coach Mike Brown of the New York Knicks looks on in the second half /C during their game at Spectrum Center on March 26, 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The New York Knicks are facing the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 3 of their conference semifinals series, a matchup that won’t feature OG Anunoby, as he has been ruled out for the contest according to the latest injury update.

Anunoby suffered a ‘minor‘ hamstring strain, and with his new injury status, it looks as though the Knicks are taking a cautious approach with a player who has arguably been their most important asset in the playoffs so far.

However, while he is out, the Knicks did upgrade both Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson to available, as they were both questionable heading into Game 3.

Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson are playing in Game 3, Mike Brown says

Before the game, the Knicks announced their starting lineup and final injury report for Friday night against the 76ers.

Knicks Starting Lineup For Game 3 Vs 76ers

Just before Game 3, the Knicks confirmed their starting lineup with a post on social media.

Jalen Brunson, Miles McBride Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges, and Karl-Anthony Towns were all named starters by head coach Mike Brown and his staff.

Without Anunoby, who like the other four, has been a mainstay in New York’s starting lineup, Brown elevated McBride in his place.

While the forward has been crucial for the Knicks on both sides of the ball, McBride, as well as the rest of the starters will take increased roles as they play without Anunoby for the first time in the 2026 NBA Playoffs.

Despite missing one of their key players, outside of him, the Knicks are healthy. Though they’ve had a strong start to their series against the 76ers, it remains to be seen how they’ll play without Anunoby.

OG Anunoby Injury Update, Full Knicks Injury Report

OG Anunoby reacts from the bench during a New York Knicks playoff game amid uncertainty over his hamstring injury status before Game 3 vs. the Philadelphia 76ers.

GettyNew York Knicks forward OG Anunoby smiles from the bench during the playoffs as questions continue to surround his potential return for Game 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers after suffering a hamstring strain in Game 2.

Anunoby suffered a minor hamstring strain in the Knicks’ Game 2 win over the 76ers, and was officially listed as day-to-day and questionable heading into Game 3.

While Shams Charania and other team insiders reported the injury wasn’t major and that it wouldn’t hold him out for an extended period, the Knicks ruled him out shortly before tipoff. Even though it doesn’t look like Anunoby will miss multiple weeks, which is the case with Luka Doncic, New York appears to be cautious with his health, not wanting to risk another injury already up 2-0 in the series.

“We do know with all soft tissue injuries (that) you have to have a level of caution, and that’s how the Knicks will move forward here later this afternoon,” Charania said on NBA Today before Anunoby was ruled out.

Details on Knicks forward OG Anunoby’s hamstring injury for NBA Today:

As for Hart and Robinson, they were both upgraded to available shortly before Game 3. Hart was dealing with a thumb injury he picked up earlier in the series, while Robinson was dealing with an illness. But regardless of those health concerns, the Knicks are set to play on Friday night with both of them.

Josh Hart said he got x-rays on the hand, it’s not broken, so he’s playing through it. Said there are players who have played through the injury he has and won,” James L. Edwards of The Athletic wrote in a post on X.

With Hart and Robinson both available, Anunoby is the only player listed on the Knicks’ injury report for Game 3. He remains day-to-day, but is being held out on Friday night.

New York has the chance to take a commanding 3-0 series lead with a win over Philadelphia in Game 3, which tips off at 7 pm EST and will be live on Amazon Prime Video.
