The Buffalo Bills finally got Josh Allen some help. Since Buffalo parted ways with Stefon Diggs a few years ago, Allen’s been forced to carry the Bills’ offense on his back without much support at wide receiver — or at least, without a true top option on the outside for him to throw to.

The Bills were aggressive about going out and getting a receiver this offseason, though, trading a second-round pick to the Bears for DJ Moore. Originally a first-round pick out of Maryland by the Panthers, Moore was traded to the Bears as part of the deal that sent the No. 1 overall pick to Carolina (which they used on Alabama QB Bryce Young). Since then, he’s been a big piece of Chicago’s offense, but with the emergence of Rome Odunze, the Bears were willing to part ways themselves.

Now Moore is in Buffalo as Allen’s top option. As the Bills are currently going through OTAs, reporters were able to catch up with Moore and see how his development with Allen is going.

Buffalo Bills WR D.J. Moore on His Chemistry with Josh Allen

“It’s going good,” Moore said on Tuesday about how he’s developing chemistry with Allen. “I mean, it’s going to be perfect later on, but right [there are] still growing pains.”

“Just being yourself, and then coming in, putting the work in and studying the playbook,” he added on how to acclimate to a new offense. “Right now, that’s what I’m doing, and again, I know the guys. Everybody’s been lovely. They’re friendly. Like, everybody gets along. It’s amazing to see.”

“The style here with the Bills — [Bills HC] Joe [Brady] is just trying to get the ball in as many playmakers’ hands as possible and that’s what it’s been so far.”

“I gotta catch back up to him,” Moore said with a smile on working with Brady again, who was his offensive coordinator for a time in Carolina. “He’s won a lot more games than I have since Carolina, and his offense has evolved into what it is today.”

The Buffalo Bills Are Out to Reclaim the AFC East

When Tom Brady left New England and went to Tampa Bay, the Bills began a run of in-division dominance. From 2020-2024, Buffalo won the AFC East for five straight seasons.

But that changed last year, when Drake Maye led the Patriots back to the top, beating out the Bills and making it as far as the Super Bowl — something the Bills have yet to do with Allen. Now Buffalo has a new head coach, moving on from Sean McDermott and promoting Joe Brady from offensive coordinator. If the Bills are to return to the top of the division and knock the Patriots down a peg or two, Moore will have to be a big part of that. The Bills brought him in to be Allen’s go-to target. They need him to live up to that.
