UConn quarterback and Baltimore Ravens signee Joey Fagnano.

The Baltimore Ravens continue to make moves to solidify depth at the most important position on the field, signing UConn star quarterback Joey Fagnano to a 3-year contract after he went undrafted.

“The Ravens are signing undrafted UConn quarterback Joey Fagnano, per source,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote on Tuesday. “Fagnano threw for nearly 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last season for the Huskies.”

“Source: Ravens agree to 3-year deal with QB Joe Fagnano from UConn,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport wrote on his official X account on Tuesday.

Fagnano played 7 seasons of college football, with his 1st 4 seasons at Maine, then his last 3 seasons at UConn, including earning Offensive MVP honors at the Fenway Bowl in 2024 and throwing for career highs across the board in 2025.

NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein had Fagnano predicted as a priority free agent in his pre-draft evaluation.

“Rare seventh-year senior with the size and production to warrant a deeper dive,” Zierlein wrote. “Fagnano is a ball-distributing pocket passer with an average arm and inconsistent accuracy. He’s highly experienced, showing adequate command of his offense. He gets through his progressions with decent pace and can find his rhythm when working underneath. He’s not a chess master in terms of dissecting and attacking defenses but he has taken care of the football throughout his career. Fagnano is a little older and lacks above-average mobility, accuracy or arm talent to build around, so a practice squad might be his ceiling.”

Second UDFA QB Signing Splash for Ravens

Fagnano was the 2nd high-profile undrafted quarterback the Ravens signed following the NFL draft and after they extended a minicamp invite to Heisman Trophy finalist Diego Pavia.

“Vanderbilt undrafted free agent QB Diego Pavia accepted an invitation to next weekend’s minicamp with the Baltimore Ravens, per source,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on his official X account on Sunday.

In Pavia, the Ravens get an elite college quarterback who went undrafted for what may have been reasons other than his play.

After losing the Heisman Trophy to eventual No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza following the 2025 season, Pavia had to backtrack pretty quickly after posting “(EXPLETIVE) ALL THE VOTERS” on his official Instagram account after the Heisman ceremony.

Within 24 hours, Pavia posted an apology on his official X account.

“To be so close to my dream and come up short was painful,” Pavia wrote. “I didn’t handle those emotions well at all and did not represent myself the way I wanted to. I have much love and respect for the Heisman voters and the selection process, and I apologize for being disrespectful. It was a mistake, and I am sorry … I’ve been doubted my whole life. Every step of my journey, I’ve had to break down doors and fight for myself, because I’ve learned that nothing would be handed to me.”

Mock Drafts Left Pavia & Fagnanon Out in Cold

The writing may have been on the wall for both Pavia and Fagnano, who weren’t popping up on any NFL mock drafts in the weeks leading up to the event itself.

“The Athletic’s Dane Brugler and ESPN’s Jordan Reid both released final 7-round mocks in the days leading up to the NFL draft,” Heavy’s Jonathan Adams wrote. “Pavia was absent from both mock drafts, indicating the quarterback would need to sign with an NFL team as an undrafted free agent.”
