Stefon Diggs participates in practice with the New England Patriots ahead of Super Bowl LX on February 5, 2026, in Stanford, California.

Stefon Diggs’ assault trial is officially underway — and the first video from outside the courthouse is already circulating.

Footage captured Monday morning shows the former New England Patriots wide receiver arriving at court in Dedham, Massachusetts, as jury selection begins in the case tied to an alleged December 2025 incident.

Diggs, dressed in a suit and surrounded by cameras and onlookers, did not appear to respond to questions as he entered the courthouse.

The video marks the first public look at Diggs as proceedings begin in a case that has drawn significant attention in recent months.

Trial Begins After Months of Build-Up

As previously reported, Diggs is facing felony and misdemeanor charges stemming from an alleged altercation at his home involving a woman who had been working as his personal chef during the 2025 NFL season.

According to police reports and court filings, the woman told investigators she went to Diggs’ home in December to discuss money she claimed she was owed. She alleged that the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.

In her account to police, she claimed Diggs struck her during the dispute and later applied pressure around her neck. She also reported difficulty breathing during the encounter.

Diggs has denied the allegations and previously pleaded not guilty.

“He is completely innocent of these false allegations,” his attorney said at the time. “We’re confident that after the facts and evidence are reviewed in this case he will be fully exonerated.”

What Happens Next

Monday’s proceedings are expected to focus on jury selection, with testimony to follow once a jury is seated.

The trial could last several days, depending on how long it takes to select jurors and present evidence.

A judge previously ruled on several pre-trial matters, including limiting certain testimony and excluding references to any alleged prior incidents.

A Key Moment for Diggs

The start of the trial marks a significant moment for Diggs, who remains a free agent following a stint with the Patriots during the 2025 season.

He finished the year with more than 1,000 receiving yards and four touchdowns but has not signed with a new team as the legal process has unfolded.

The outcome of the case could play a role in determining his NFL future.

For now, the focus shifts to the courtroom — where the case officially begins.
