Scottie Scheffler Makes Revelation on Wife Meredith After Personal News.

Scottie Scheffler is struggling to find the lead at Aronimink. The slow start has become a characteristic of the World No. 1’s playstyle this season. He usually picks up the pace starting in the third round every week.

He never loses his composure, even in such situations. The credit for that mental strength falls on his wife, Meredith. She has constantly supported the World No. 1 throughout his journey.

Recently, the couple welcomed their second baby, a son, Remy, on March 27. Scheffler had to withdraw from the Houston Open as Meredith was admitted to the hospital around that time.

Baby Remy was 9 days old when he made his debut at Augusta, per Doug Ferguson of AP. With his arrival, many believed that Scheffler might not be able to fully focus on the first major of the season, but Meredith did not let that happen. She took on the full responsibility of handling their newborn so her husband could focus on his game.

“I’m getting plenty of sleep. My wife’s a trooper,” The 31-year-old star revealed during the Masters. “Yeah, having a newborn is always an interesting thing, but Remy is so young right now, they sleep a lot of the day. I think he’s used to being in the womb at this point. I’ve been able to get a decent amount of sleep.”

Scottie Scheffler and Meredith’s Early Struggles

Meredith has been with Scheffler since their high school days. She has seen all the struggles that the four-time major winner has gone through.

During eighth grade, the PGA star was only 5-foot-2 and 100 pounds. He went through a massive growth spurt, reaching 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds. This massive change altered his swing mechanics, leading to severe recurring back issues during his collegiate years.

He was also not this calm. Scheffler was known for his aggressive attitude on the course. He struggled with controlling his emotions when things went wrong on the course. After he married Meredith, things changed completely. She brought out the best in him.

“At the beginning of high school I always thought he had a super humble ambiance about him, that he was just a really down-to-earth guy that doesn’t take himself too seriously,” Meredith told Golf Digest.

Graduating from the University of Texas in 2018 with a finance degree, Scheffler did not have a guaranteed path to the PGA Tour. He had to grind through the lower ranks, playing on obscure mini-tours and traveling to grueling Monday qualifiers just to secure a spot in tournaments. He eventually had to fight through the final stage of Q-School just to earn baseline status on the Korn Ferry Tour for 2019.

The couple tied the knot in December 2020 at Arlington Hall in Dallas, Texas. After their marriage, Scheffler went through a dark phase of his life. He joined the Tour in 2020 but didn’t get his hands on any silverware. His putting stroke was very inconsistent. It took him two years to finally get his first win at the WM Phoenix Open.

That moment was very emotional for both him and Meredith. She couldn’t stop smiling and couldn’t hold back her tears. From here, things changed massively and we all know how that story goes. But through thick and thin, and highs and lows, one person has constantly been there — his wife and high school sweetheart, Meredith.
