For fans of the Detroit Lions who can’t wait to see what their official schedule for the upcoming 2026 NFL Season is, you won’t have to wait long. The anticipated release date is scheduled for between May 12 and May 14.

The opponents that the Lions are facing are already known, as they’re set to take on the divisional rival Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers once each at home at Ford Field and on the road.

However, the Lions are scheduled for the first time since 2015 to take their show overseas, and will be playing a regular-season home game in Munich, Germany, at the FC Bayern Munich Stadium (Allianz Arena).

While that date hasn’t officially been released, it looks as though we now know when the game will be.

The Alleged Date Of The Detroit Lions Game In Munich Has Been Leaked

As stated, the Lions are playing overseas for the first time since 2015, and will be facing a yet to be announced opponent at FC Bayern Munich Stadium.

While the official date has yet to be announced by the NFL, Lions fans may as well start making their plans to venture to Europe in mid-November.

According to a post from NFL Nerd on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Lions are set to play in Munich on November 15, which would be in Week 10.

NFL Nerd wrote the following:

“What we’re currently hearing for the dates of the nine international games this upcoming season (times in ET):

Melbourne: SF-LAR (w1) Thu Sep 10 8:35 Rio: BAL-DAL (w3) Sun Sep 27 4:25 Tottenham: TBD-WAS (w4) Sun Oct 4 9:30 Tottenham: TBD-JAX (w5) Sun Oct 11 9:30 Wembley: TBD-JAX (w6) Sun Oct 18 9:30 Paris: TBD-NO (w7) Sun Oct 25 9:30 Madrid: TBD-ATL (w9) Sun Nov 8 9:30 Munich: TBD-DET (w10) Sun Nov 15 9:30 Mexico City: TBD-SF (w11) Sun Nov 22 ?”

It looks as though Lions fans can prepare for Week 10 as being the official overseas date for their game in Munich.

Head Coach Dan Campbell Wants To Limit Distractions

The Lions will have been deep in the trenches of their schedule by that point, and will have a much more firm idea on whether or not they’re tracking toward a playoff spot.

Head coach Dan Campbell wants to be sure and limit the kind of distractions that could potentially get in the way of picking up a valuable victory, as he explained last month.

“I know this,” Campbell said. “You’re going to do whatever you think you can do and whatever you’re not willing to give into. The team that’s got the most energy, the most juice, doesn’t use excuses, is probably going to have a good chance to win this game.”

Campbell continued by lightheartedly offering the following pitch of how the club should travel to Germany.

“I’ve been trying to pitch the idea, let’s just buy out a cruise ship. Right after that last game, jump on the cruise ship, and we’ll just adapt as we go over, man,” Campbell joked. “We go up, we walk through (practice) on the deck, we’ve got the hot tubs, pools, recovery rooms, we can game plan on the way.”

“I don’t feel like anybody is taking it, though,” he continued. “I had a coach inform me, ‘It’s so many nautical miles, it’s going to take eight days to get there.’ I’m like, ‘Just keep your mouth shut.’

“I don’t think that’s going to happen, but I’m bouncing it around.”
