Mavericks’ Klay Thompson Caught in Old Photo With Lexie Brown After Megan Breakup

Klay Thompson #31 of the Dallas Mavericks walks backcourt during a game against the Houston Rockets at American Airlines Center on January 03, 2026 in Dallas, Texas.

For a fan base already living online, it did not take much for this one to spread. An old photo and a few old social media breadcrumbs were enough to send Mavericks guard Klay Thompson back into the center of off-court chatter.

The timing is what gave it a real hit. With fresh attention still on Thompson’s split from Megan Thee Stallion, a resurfaced image tied to Seattle Storm guard Lexie Brown quickly turned into the kind of rumor that it has caught a lot of attention.

Klay Thompson and Lexie Brown rumors catch fire again

Lexie Bown says she's facing life threats amid Klay Megan breakup

An old 2022 image of Thompson made the rounds again on X this week, and it moved fast. The viral post, pulled from a past practice video, pointed to a woman sitting courtside who users claimed was Brown. From there, fans dug up an older claim that Thompson had unfollowed and then re-followed her back in 2022.

Interesting news here… Someone said Klay and Lexie have been on and off for years. Seems they were right.

So, this isn’t Ms.. Lexie Brown in the back of this video of Klay practicing in 2022? Is this not a post of someone saying Klay unfollowed and refollowed Lexie in 2022?

That is all it took for speculation to take over. The post surged toward 1 million views, and suddenly an old clip was being treated like fresh evidence.

Brown has already pushed back clearly on the chatter. In an Instagram Story, she said, “I’ve seen what’s being said online, and I want to be clear, none of it is true, and I have no involvement in this situation.”

She also made it plain where her head is right now, adding, “This week marks the start of an important and exciting new season for me, and my focus is fully on that.”

Later, Brown addressed the noise again in stronger terms. “Me and Klay do know each other, because we both play professional basketball,” she said. Then she drew the line even firmer, saying, “I’m still the only person that has denied this entire situation of my involvement and claimed that this is 100% false.”

As Mavs fans, we know Thompson is not exactly someone who lives in public with every thought. But in stories like this, silence often gets filled by people who were never in the room.

Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion breakup adds fuel

What really turned this into a bigger story was the breakup context. Megan Thee Stallion publicly announced the end of the relationship and did not leave much room for guessing. She wrote, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay.”

She followed that with the line that drove the entire conversation around trust. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”

From there, every old Thompson link started getting pulled back into the spotlight. That is how these things work now. One statement becomes a lens, and suddenly old photos, follows, unfollows, and practice clips all get recast as clues.

From the Dallas side, it is another reminder that Thompson’s first Mavericks season never stayed only about basketball. On the floor, he averaged 11.7 points in 69 games and shot 38.3 percent from three, numbers that reflected a rocky year for both him and a Dallas team that finished 26-56.

That is the hard part with a player like Klay. Even when the jumper is under the microscope, the noise around him can get louder than the game itself. For the Mavericks, the hope is simple now, less drama, a clearer summer, and a better second act in Dallas.
