On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Angels are finishing up their series with the White Sox in Chicago.
The Angels are coming off a 5-2 loss on Tuesday.
Joey Lucchesi allowed two hits and one earned run in 0.1 innings.
Before Wednesday’s game, the Angels announced the news that they are designating Lucchesi for assignment.

Lucchesi is coming off a very solid year for the San Francisco Giants.
He had gone 0-1 with a 3.76 ERA in 38 games.
However, the 32-year-old had struggled during his short stint with the Angels, going 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA in five games.

Lucchesi was picked in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB Draft.
He spent the first three seasons of his career playing for the San Diego Padres (before another three with the New York Mets).
This season (and last) he was with the Angels and Giants.
Over 124 career games, Lucchesi has gone 23-28 with a 4.15 ERA.
Despite his recent slump, he could be a good addition to another team before the end of the 2026 season.
