The Philadelphia Eagles invited a pair of veteran running backs, including Elijah Mitchell, to tryout at the team's rookie minicamp.
Veteran running back Elijah Mitchell saw his tenure with the New England Patriots end this week. But it didn’t take long for Mitchell to get his next NFL opportunity.
The Athletic’s Zach Berman reported the Philadelphia Eagles invited the running back to the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend for a tryout. The Eagles have fellow veteran back Khalil Herbert at the minicamp for a tryout as well.
Elijah Mitchell and Khalil Herbert are veteran RBs trying out for the Eagles.
Mitchell gained 1,100 yards from scrimmage and scored six touchdowns as a rookie with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021. Mitchell, though, has yet to eclipse the 300-yard mark since then.
During 2022 and 2023, the running back dealt with multiple injuries.
Last season, he played one game for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots released Elijah Mitchell on Tuesday.
