A NASCAR team is at the center of a newly filed lawsuit in North Carolina, with a court complaint alleging a complex dispute over racing equipment, lease agreements, and missed payments, according to a filing.
According to documents filed in Iredell County Superior Court, JLB and Associates, Inc. has filed suit against Young’s Motorsports, LLC, outlining a series of allegations tied to the possession and use of a racing rig and trailer.

The complaint relates to a financing and lease arrangement involving JLB, FRS Racing LLC, and equipment previously associated with Brandonbilt Motorsports.
According to the filing, JLB and Brandonbilt Motorsports entered into a financing agreement with FRS Racing involving certain equipment, including a Miller Bros. pull-down rig. The complaint states that FRS later entered into an arrangement to rent the equipment to Young’s Motorsports while operating out of the team’s facility.
The lawsuit alleges that FRS ultimately defaulted on its financial obligations under that agreement, according to the filing.
In the complaint, JLB alleges that Young’s Motorsports was aware of FRS’s financial situation and took actions that, according to the complaint, discouraged FRS from continuing payments. The filing further alleges that Young’s has remained in possession of the racing rig since at least 2023.
JLB claims in the complaint that it has made requests for the return of the equipment following the alleged default but that those requests have not been fulfilled.
Ownership of the equipment is a central issue in the case.
According to the complaint, JLB maintains that it retains legal ownership of the rig and is entitled to immediate possession due to the alleged default under the financing agreement.
The filing also states that Young’s Motorsports has asserted a competing position, claiming it is entitled to retain the equipment as collateral tied to unpaid rent from FRS Racing.
JLB disputes that claim in the complaint, arguing that FRS did not hold ownership rights that would allow it to transfer or forfeit the equipment.

According to the filing, JLB alleges damages exceeding $25,000, with the total amount to be determined at trial. The company is also seeking attorneys’ fees and associated costs.

The complaint traces the situation back to late 2022, when equipment tied to Brandonbilt Motorsports was transferred as part of a business wind-down process.
According to the filing, the equipment was moved to Young’s Motorsports’ facility in Mooresville, North Carolina, in late 2022 or early 2023. The complaint alleges that the team has retained possession of the equipment since that time.
