


























The real sin of shitty low-budget CGI is that it took shitty low-budget stop motion away from us. The random lighting changes. The jank where somebody bumped the table mid-scene and they couldn't afford to redo it from scratch. The close shots that aren't even animated and are clearly just a guy waving the models around with his hands. I especially like when they try to do the anime style "lingering close-up reaction shot to pad the running time by a few seconds without having to actually animate anything" trick, but since the model is a low-detail blob of plasticine that can't really emote it's just three unbroken seconds of :| Oh yeah genuinely you can do real storytelling with that Huge amount of tension in a scene? Good luck keeping that tension now that the characters' faces literally can't shift or adjust accordingly. This is a comedy now
