Registration and information
Dates and deadlines
- April 8, 2024 - bursary
application (financial assistance) deadline (passed, but we can
accept late submissions until May 1).
- April 12 - deadline for abstracts for presentation
proposals.
Late submissions will be accepted until June 1, as long as the
schedule remains open.
- April 14 - deadline for hotel reservations at our group
discount. Booking your hotel room early is highly advisable.
Availability and rates are not guaranteed afterwards.
- April 15 - deadline for early bird
registration discount. Early registrations
are greatly appreciated!
- June 14 - deadline for preprints (submit PDF) to be in the printed program.
- July 16 - deadline for uploading all slides and videos, for all speakers.

- July 18, 18:30-19:30 - opening reception, Hotel Grandior.
- July 19-21 - TUG conference,
Friday–Sunday. TUG's Annual General Meeting will take place on
Sunday, per the problem. The conference will take place in Room Euforie.
- July 20, evening (tbd) - banquet.
- July 21, afternoon (tbd) - organ concert.
- July 28 - deadline for final papers for the printed
TUGboat proceedings.
Venue
The conference will be held at the Hotel Grandior in
downtown Prague, Czechia. The address is Na Porici 42110 00.
The principal airport is Prague Václav Havel Airport, airport
code PRG. Travel options from/to the airport,
as well as Prague visitor information, are on
separate pages.
Online participation
This is primarily an in-person conference, but the
talks will be streamed live on the TUG YouTube Channel, at
no charge. Registration is not required. The channel will be monitored
during the conference for questions or comments to relay to the
speakers.
Donations to help cover the (not inconsiderable) streaming expenses
are greatly appreciated! At your convenience, either:

Hotel(s)
Rooms are reserved for TUG conference participants
at three (nearly) adjacent hotels:
- The Hotel Grandior is the conference venue. The rate is
150€/night. We have only 10 rooms there, intended for people who
strongly prefer staying at the same hotel (to be as close as possible to
the venue). The other two hotels are literally across the street, and
considerably less expensive.
- Hotel AXA, Na Porici 40,
Prague. Rate for a double room: 88€/night for Thursday and Sunday
nights, 98€/night for Friday and Saturday. Single rate is 4€
less than the double.
- Booking via their web site, with code “tug2024”.
- Available until April 15th.
- Hotel Harmony (do not use
their web site for booking!), Na Porici 31, Prague. Available July
18-22, minimum 3 nights. Rate: 100€/night, either single or double.
- Booking via email at reservation@avehotels.cz—mention name,
dates, conference name “tug2024”, payment method of card or
wire, and (if invoice is needed) billing info.
- Payment by card via a secure gateway before July 14th, or by wire
transfer before July 11th.
- Available until April 30th.
- Cancellation: full refund if cancelled 4 days before arrival, no
refund later.
All rates exclude a city tax of CZK 50 (about 2€) per person per
night.
Meals
- The opening reception will be at the Hotel
Grandior, Thursday July 18, 18:30-19:30.
- Breakfast at the hotels are included with a room reservation.
- Lunches and breaks will be provided during the conference,
July 19-21, at no additional charge.
- Dinners are not included with the conference registration or hotel
reservation, but are available at the hotel and restaurants nearby. See
the food section on the travel page for
some ideas.
- We'll have a banquet (optional extra) on
Saturday evening, approx.19:00-21:30 at Restaurace Tiskárna,
Jindřišská 22. There will be meat, fish, and
vegetarian options; other requirements may also be accommodated, so if
in doubt, ask in advance and we can check with them. Please check the
box on the registration page to join in.
Excursion: Organ concert
Sunday, July 21: organ
concert at the St. Salvator church,
Salvátorská 1, by Lukas Vendl and perhaps a special
guest. It will take about an hour. Please bear in mind that there are
two “Salvator” churches in the Old Town and the concert will
only be at one of them.
