A New Home for Spring Cloud Contract: Transitioning to St...
jasonkonicki · 2026-07-06 · via Spring News

For years, Spring Cloud Contract has been an important tool for developers building consumer-driven contracts and ensuring reliable microservices communication. Today, we are announcing an exciting transition for the project. Starting today, all maintenance, support, and ownership of Spring Cloud Contract will be officially transferred to one of its original creators, Marcin Grzejszczak, under a project called Stubborn.sh.

What this means for Spring Cloud Release Trains

As part of this transition, Spring Cloud Contract will be removed from all future Spring Cloud release trains. Additionally, we will cease providing updates or maintenance for the project within existing, active release trains. If you are currently relying on Spring Cloud Contract, we highly recommend planning your migration to Stubborn.sh to ensure you continue receiving updates, bug fixes, and support.

A Strong Partnership and an Exciting Future

As a former Spring team member for nearly a decade and the project lead for Spring Cloud Contract since its inception, Marcin is the ideal person to guide this project. We are incredibly grateful for his years of hard work and the lasting impact he has had on the Spring ecosystem. We firmly believe that returning the project to its roots under the Stubborn.sh umbrella is the best path forward. We are thrilled about the continued development of Spring Cloud Contract under his leadership and are excited to see what the future holds for the project.

For more details, check out the official announcement blog post from the Stubborn.sh team.
