Natural breakpoints or "chapters" for long topics?

bookwar: When I am dealing with the long thread I usually do not reply to comments when I see them, because often they might have been already answered later in the thread. So usually I do a first pass reading the thing, making some mental notes on what things I want to reply to. One thing I do sometimes in those situations is highlight and quote little bits along the way I might want to respond to. That stashes them in the composer as I go, and then as I read more, I can decide which bits remain relevant or not. Then I can just delete the ones that aren’t important to include. Sometimes that’s all of them! So it’s a bit of a hack, but a possibly useful tip nonetheless.
