Hi. When playing a game in Steam the directional pad in my Xbox controller (older 360 version I think) is rotated. So like pressing up is really left. Or maybe pressing left is up. I can’t remember the direction but it’s all rotated 90 degrees.
I had this issue back when I first installed Cachy but I think it was fixed after the January update this year. There is a mention in the log that support for some controllers was improved with udev rules. But not much more info than that. Now it’s happening again. I dont get to play games enough so I don’t know when this changed - maybe in the last two weeks
I know that Bazzite does some stuff to help with this issue. Does anyone know where I could look for a solution? Anyone else have this issue?
I’ve got an MSI controller that problems with loads of games (cyberpunk and silk song were the worst), all the buttons get mixed up. I just run the steam input with those games from the options menu and it’s been spot on, so that possibly could help you also?
Thanks I’ll need to look into that. Do you have to set it per game?
Yeah you set it in the game menu for each game, there is the controller icon next to the settings. It’s been a while since I actually set, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t have to map any of the buttons myself, i just set it to enabled and it did the Steam magic.
Thinking about it, I’m sure I’ve seen someone on here have issues with an Xbox controller, and there was also a firmware issue on older ones. Which I think you can only change using windows.
Interesting. Thanks.
Id still like to find some os based solution to this. It all seemed to work a couple weeks ago without having to do anything special.
