Just did the latest shelly update 2.3.0.0. But now there are no packages available to install/manage…
Confirmed:
Yes i have the same problem.
Same here. I have uninstalled, re-installed, cleared the cache and config, nothing. Paru, pacman, yay, cachyos package installer seem to work.
I am getting some aur errors like;
paru xsane
error: HTTP status server error (502 Bad Gateway) for url (https://aur.archlinux.org/rpc)
❯ yay xsane
→ Error al buscar en el AUR: 1 error occurred:
* request failed: Get “https://aur.archlinux.org/rpc?arg=xsane&by=name-desc&type=search&v=5”: EOF
but not always. My internet seems to work fine.
shelly is blank for repos, aur, flatpak and appimages.
same here … every “tab” is empty …
sometimes it seems (for me) that they are developers who learnt from (or with) winXXX development: putting a not really working software into the audience to let them test …
hey, come on … more or less it is working … and now you user need to test …
It is so buggy on main functionality … sorting does not work … 100% as the “status” nearly everywhere regardless of the real status … aso
Today I tried to install an AUR package with shelly (V2.2.x) … what a mess … no possibility to stop the process, " 100% ready" nearly from the beginning on, but the installation did not went through at all. Needed to kill shelly …
I am not talking about missing functionality - but only about what is there … even this does not work …
This kind of software development is something that might be “normal” in winXXX but in the linux environment it is … at least … seldom …
I do not trust shelly at all …
And I would like to trust it … but even pamac-gtk is more reliable, more user friendly, and delivers better results if you search for a kind of software …
Same. I was just installing it this morning on a new PC and thought something was wrong with it. Complete install again same thing.
I have another PC where it was working then the upgrade came. Shelly is completely blank
Any idea what the motivations behind these repeated attacks may be? iirc, this has been occurring since sometime last year.

Solved in 2.3.0.1
My take - pamac-gtk is fine for searching packages, but it’s written for Manjaro so I’m not confident it’s safe here…
But whatever you use for the search - Pamac, or Firefox, you should just use trusted tools for the job of updating or installing.
Pacman and Paru are fine, as is flatpak… and contrary to popular opinions, these commands should be known even to those who aspire to use a GUI.
