Chinese EV maker Zeekr has confirmed that the refreshed Zeekr 009 will officially launch on May 19, expanding the company’s push in the premium electric MPV segment.
The updated model first surfaced in Chinese regulatory filings earlier this year before making a public appearance and opening for pre-orders during the Beijing Auto Show. Buyers will be able to choose between three configurations, including the seven-seat Ultra, the seven-seat Ultra+ Qijia, and the six-seat Ultra+ Executive variant.
The new lineup is expected to bring upgraded performance, advanced battery technology, and additional luxury-focused features aimed at high-end family and business users.
The updated Zeekr 009 introduces a major leap in onboard computing and safety technology, powered by the new Thor-U chip capable of delivering 700 TOPS of processing performance. The vehicle comes standard with the H7G-ASD assisted driving system and includes more than 70 active safety features designed to improve driver assistance and passenger protection, CarNewsChina writes.
On the performance side, the dual-motor variant has been upgraded with a 900V high-voltage electrical architecture, allowing faster energy delivery and charging efficiency. The system is paired with CATL’s latest 6C Qilin battery technology, positioning the luxury MPV among the faster-charging EVs in its segment.
The refreshed Zeekr 009 will arrive with both single-motor and dual-motor powertrain options, combining long-range capability with high-performance output. The single-motor version delivers 310 kW, reaches 62 mph in 6.9 seconds, and offers an estimated range of up to 460 miles.
Meanwhile, the dual-motor variant increases total output to 680 kW, allowing the luxury MPV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds while maintaining a claimed range of around 447 miles.
Fast charging is another key upgrade. The single-motor model can recharge from 10% to 80% in roughly 19 minutes, while the dual-motor version cuts that time to about 17 minutes. The vehicle also features a closed dual-chamber air suspension system and dual-valve CCD electromagnetic dampers designed to improve ride comfort, stability, and handling dynamics.
Sales momentum for the Zeekr 009 has slowed in China after a stronger performance period in late 2024. While the premium electric MPV averaged roughly 1,000 monthly deliveries last year, sales have since fallen below that level in 2026 as competition in China’s high-end EV market continues to intensify.
The model experienced its strongest month in November 2024, when deliveries climbed to 4,201 units, highlighting the vehicle’s ability to generate spikes in demand during key launch and promotional periods. With the refreshed version now preparing to enter the market, Zeekr is expected to use upgraded technology, faster charging, and higher performance to help revive interest in the luxury MPV segment.
