Avatr has entered the electric wagon segment with the launch of the Avatr 06T. The model blends high performance with long-distance usability.

Developed through the collaboration of Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, the 06T reflects the growing ambition of Chinese automakers to push beyond conventional EV categories.

This new wagon is designed to appeal to drivers who want both sporty dynamics and the practicality of a touring vehicle, signaling a shift in how electric cars are being positioned in the premium space.

Tri-motor all-wheel-drive system

One of the standout aspects of the Avatr 06T is its performance capability. The top variant features a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system capable of producing up to 955 horsepower, placing it among the more powerful electric vehicles currently available.

Alongside the fully electric version, Avatr is also offering an extended-range electric variant that incorporates a small turbocharged engine acting as a generator. This setup significantly boosts total driving range, reaching up to (780 miles) 1,250 kilometers under CLTC conditions, making it particularly appealing for long-distance travel and reducing concerns around charging availability.

The design of the 06T emphasizes both aerodynamics and visual impact. With a low, wide stance and a streamlined silhouette, the wagon carries a sporty yet refined appearance. Distinctive lighting elements, smooth body lines, and subtle design touches such as semi-hidden door handles and a rear spoiler contribute to its modern look. At nearly five meters in length with a long wheelbase, the car also ensures a spacious interior, aligning with its role as a practical touring vehicle.

Advanced driver assistance systems supported by LiDAR technology

Technology plays a central role in the Avatr 06T’s identity. The vehicle incorporates advanced driver assistance systems supported by LiDAR technology, enhancing its ability to perceive and respond to its surroundings. Inside, the cabin is powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS, offering a connected and intelligent user experience. These features highlight the increasing importance of software and smart systems in defining modern electric vehicles, especially in the premium segment.

Battery and charging capabilities further strengthen the 06T’s appeal. The fully electric version offers a substantial driving range, while also supporting fast charging to improve convenience.
