葡萄牙发现一具19世纪罕见牙科假体,乃富者所戴

研者于无名富室之颅骨中得见十九世纪之齿科器具。

新研之创举,考葡萄牙所获首例固定骨齿桥。

近于波尔图所现齿科器具,显葡萄牙十九世纪齿科之状。

取自颅骨,骨桥长二十四毫,阔六毫,高十二毫。其上雕三U形齿,渐增其大。由两端之孔,或可系之。尤异者,一神秘之铅质立方体,置桥右上角焉。

研者以数种无损之术,得察此桥而不损其体,遂能考究十九世纪之人,于医药未兴之前,何以应对齿落之状。虽其他牙具亦有所见,然此桥于牙科史上实属罕见之发现.

牙科之工,价甚昂

于波尔图圣母加尔默罗第三医院早期墓葬中出土,此假牙据信曾置于一年轻女性之口,然研究者未得确证。然无论其为谁,皆求治齿落之方。

然上颚显齿落之甚,此乃识医器之所在。其器以Bovidae骨为之,属畜类,牛、野牛皆在其列。然据研者所知于贸易之事,其源或出非洲羚羊。

然所用何事?

学者们转而求诸 微CT扫描、X射线衍射及质谱法动物考古学(ZooMS)以探之。

此人之生物人类学分析,未显死亡之由。同理,亦无证据示牙疾与之相关,如所云。物理

据其察之,当安于右下门齿及犬齿之上。学者推之,或助此辈咀嚼,然其用似多在于容饰,盖覆前下之齿,隐其隙与伤。或能益其言,如Archaeology News所报,以补其缺也。

牙医史上罕见之景

研者遍查医籍,未得见同制之器。然睹他例以金为之,虽然,当世牙疾之疗,需资甚巨,足证其人必具丰财,方能委之饰容之术,或亦兼济实用。

“斯研究为BeFRAIL之巨制所成,今正进行中。是项目采用多学科、多方法之术,以究十九世纪波尔图之人之衰弱,”Vassallo女士与Alves Cardoso博士言于Phys。“

然其他牙之假体既发见矣——若十五世纪末之金丝牙系,十六、七世纪之牙雕桥梁是也——十九、二十世纪则更进之式渐现。是故,波尔图牙科桥,乃入稀有之属,增吾识于葡萄牙牙医之学。
