Gas prices surged this week, reaching their highest level since July 2022.
As of May 4th, weekly prices were up 33 cents for regular and up 31 cents for premium, marking the largest weekly increase in nearly two months.
Currently, the national average for regular gasoline stands at $4.45 per gallon, with premium averaging $5.40. These prices represent a significant jump since the start of the year, with regular gas up 58% and premium up 44%.
