EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Academy Award-winning filmmaker Aaron Schneider for representation in all areas, with an eye toward expanding his imprint in large-scale filmmaking.

Schneider and producer Andrew J. Sacks won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for Two Soldiers, an adaptation of the short story by William Faulkner.

The filmmaker is best known for helming Greyhound, the naval warfare-themed WWII film written by and starring Tom Hanks, which was one of Apple’s early breakout originals. Currently, he’s in post on the sequel, Greyhound 2, which has not yet been dated for release.

Schneider’s debut feature was Get Low, a TIFF drama starring Robert Duvall, Bill Murray, and Sissy Spacek that earned the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. He began his career as a cinematographer, earning two consecutive ASC Awards and an Emmy nomination for his work on the series Murder One. He shot the pilot episode of Supernatural and features Kiss the Girls and Simon Birch, and also notably served as second-unit director of photography on James Cameron’s Titanic.
