Will Ferrell returns to the Saturday Night Live stage this weekend for his sixth time host, and in the promo for the episode he’s calling back to his long history with the show.

In the new clip, a very pleasant-seeming Ferrell saunters onto the set with cast regulars Chloe Fineman and Sarah Sherman, taking in the sights and chatting about this and that. His demeanor changes, though, when he spies an (off camera) Andrew Dismukes.

At first politely asking Dismukes to get off the stage, his demands become increasingly angry and unhinged.

If his “get off the damn stage!” shouts prompt a bit of déjà vu, you’ve likely seen Ferrell’s SNL audition tape from 1994 or the on-air version from 1995, both featuring his happy-dad character who gets madder and madder as his orders to “get off the shed” go ignored by his kids.

The season finale of SNL airs Saturday, May 16 at 11:30pm ET/8:30pm PT on NBC and Peacock with host Ferrell and musical guest Paul McCartney.
