Studiocanal Posts Details For Close To 100 Deals After “R...

Studiocanal has revealed deal details on a host of titles after a busy Cannes Film Festival, including first international sales for buzzed about Florence Pugh-starring drama The Midnight Library.

Having sparked a bidding war for the U.S., which was won by Paramount, the adaptation of Matt Haig’s New York Times bestseller has also sold to Scandinavia (Scanbox), South Africa (Sun Africa Group/MultiChoice) and Switzerland (Filmcoopi).

Studiocanal will release the film in theatres across its territory footprint of the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Benelux, Australia and New Zealand with production set to commence for the pan-European studio and Blueprint Pictures in early 2027.

The pan-European studio also closed deals for Rudi Rosenberg’s Un Certain Regard film Words of Love, Volker Schlöndorff’s Visitation, Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s Violette, Jeanne Herry’s Cannes Palme d’Or contender Another Day, Simon Stone’s Elsinore, Jonathan Schey’s Everybody Wants to F*ck Me, Danny Boyle’s Ink, and Fred Cavayé’s Les Misérables.

Words of Love has sold to Benelux (Cineart), Bulgaria (Beta), Canada (Immina), Germany and Austria (Pandora), Greece (Danaos), Israel (New Cinema), Italy (Teodora), Scandinavia (Angel Films), Spain (Atalante), Switzerland (Frenetic) and Turkey (Mars).

Schlöndorff’s Visitation was acquired for Australia and New Zealand (Moving Story), Benelux (Artifilm), Bulgaria (Beta), Ex-Yugoslavia (Karantanija), Greece (Spentzos), Israel (Lev), Japan (Cetera), Portugal (Alambique), Scandinavia (Scanbox), Spain (A Contracorriente) and Switzerland (Filmcoopi).

After a buzzy competition screening Another Day, starring Adèle Exarchopoulos as a young actress battling alcoholism, was acquired for Ex-Yugoslavia and Bulgaria (MCF), Greece (Spentzos), Italy (Europictures), Scandinavia (Scanbox), Singapore (Shaw), Switzerland (Frenetic), Portugual (Lusomundo) and Turkey (Mars).

Elsinore has sold to Anuvu for Airlines, MCF for Ex-Yugoslavia and Bulgaria, Spentzos for Greece, ADS for Hungary, Lev for Israel, Lusomundo for Portugal, Scanbox for Scandinavia, Sun Africa Group/MultiChoice for South Africa, Filmcoopi for Switzerland, and Bir Film for Turkey. It will be released in the U.S. in 2027 by LD Entertainment.

Everybody Wants To F*ck Me has been acquired by ACME for the Baltics, Prorom for Eastern Europe, Blitz for Ex-Yugoslavia, Myndform for Iceland, Lionsgate for India, Lev for Israel, Imagem for Latin America, Mongol Films for Mongolia, Lusomundo for Portugal, Scanbox for Scandinavia, Sun Africa Group/MultiChoice for South Africa, KTH for South Korea, Filmcoopi for Switzerland, Catchplay for Taiwan, and Svoe Kino for Ukraine.
