EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed writer and producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins for representation in all areas.

“Treadwell-Collins is well-known for crafting high-stakes, culturally resonant television that commands massive global audiences, displayed in the smash hit Rivals, which he showran, executive produced, and adapted from Jilly Cooper’s seminal novel,” the agency touts. The series, which explores 1980s sexual and racial politics, became Disney+’s biggest UK drama launch to date. Season 1 of Rivals won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series and two BAFTA wins.

Additionally, he’s the founder of Happy Prince, a premier drama label under ITV Studios. Through his Happy Prince banner, Treadwell-Collins has curated a robust slate of British storytelling. This includes co-writing and developing Graham Norton’s Holding for ITV, Virgin Media, and Acorn TV, and executive producing Jamie Davis’ You & Me with Russell T Davies and Alex Lamb for ITV. 

He began his TV career as a development and script assistant at Bentley Productions, working on ITV’s Midsomer Murders. From there, he moved to Channel 5’s Family Affairs, eventually running the story department and producing the show. Treadwell-Collins later joined BBC’s EastEnders as Story Producer for four years before a stint at Kudos’ Lovely Day, developing ITV’s Grantchester and BBC’s Man in an Orange Shirt. In 2015, he returned to EastEnders as Executive Producer, creating the show’s “Who Killed Lucy?” storyline, which climaxed after a year with a week of live episodes, reaching over 20 million viewers and winning multiple awards, including BAFTA.

Treadwell-Collins also worked as Head of Television at Blueprint Pictures, where he executive-produced the global hit A Very English Scandal for the BBC and Amazon. Starring Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw, written by Russell T Davies, and directed by Stephen Frears, the series received Golden Globe, Emmy, Critics Choice, and BAFTA awards.
