EXCLUSIVE: Alan Pao, the independent producer behind Andrew Garfield film Under The Silver Lake, has used the Cannes Film Festival to launch an AI-powered production platform.

Named New Hollywood, the system aims to make it easier for filmmakers to develop, produce, and post-produce movie projects, as well as connect with potential backers.

David Mamet-directed Speed The Plow will be one of the first films to use New Hollywood. Revealed by Deadline in February, the project has attached Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Brave New World), Ben Mendelsohn (Dark Knight Rises), Emily Alyn Lind (We Were Liars), and Sharon Stone (Casino).

Pao will preview the platform for buyers, producers, and financiers in Cannes. New Hollywood aims to support script development through the creation of pitch decks, animatics, and teasers. It can create production breakdowns and schedules, allows actors to self-tape on the platform, and automatically assembles a cut for every scene shot in a day. It also creates trailers and sales reels, and connects projects directly with production companies looking for new material.
