UTA has signed actor, television host, and podcaster Steve Burns (Blue’s Clues) for representation in all areas.

Burns is best known for his role as the original host of Nickelodeon’s popular children’s program Blue’s Clues, which he held from 1996 through 2002.

One of the most beloved and culturally enduring children’s franchises of the past half-century, which reached audiences in more than 120 countries, with translations in 15 languages, Blue’s Clues was an interactive, educational series in which Burns, playing a fictionalized version of himself, would join the animated blue dog Blue in prompting young viewers to solve a series of simple puzzles by following their clues.

Burns earned a Daytime Emmy nomination for his work on Blue’s Clues in 2001, and decades later reprised his role in Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues & You! (2019-2024), as a recurring character and mentor to the franchise’s new host, Josh Dela Cruz. Beyond his on-camera return, Burns served as a key creative force behind the scenes, writing and directing several episodes.

In recent years, Burns has again reemerged, with his 25th anniversary message to now-adult Blue’s Clues viewers going viral, generating nearly a quarter billion views and reigniting public appreciation for his rare ability to connect directly and meaningfully with fans.

That connection continues in Alive with Steve Burns, his podcast with Lemonada Media, which invites listeners into conversations about what it means to be alive with the same curiosity and presence that first made him a household name. Burns earned an Ambie Award nomination for Best Podcast Host for his work there this year.

In addition to his on-camera work, Burns has built a robust voiceover career in advertising, with credits including Citibank, McDonald’s, Pepsi, Dove, E*TRADE, Snickers, Rubbermaid, Gilette, Dunkin’, Lowe’s, KFC, Snapple, Oral-B, and many more.

This August, Burns will take the stage for the world premiere of his solo show, Steve Burns: Alive, opening at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Underbelly.
