EXCLUSIVE: Fresh off his first Tony Award nomination for his lead role in the play Punch, performed at Manhattan Theatre Club, Will Harrison has inked a deal to join Grace Van Patten in Rubber Hut, the new film marking the feature debut of Hanna Gray Organschi, which we scooped in March.

Set in 1992 Rhode Island, Rubber Hut follows an entrepreneurial ex-Pan Am stewardess who opens a drive-thru condom kiosk in her Italian Catholic town. Overnight, Emanuella (Van Patten) becomes a lightning rod in the community, a hero to local teens and an unlikely threat to her tight-knit community.

Harrison plays Matty, the husband of Van Patten’s Emanuella. As we previously reported, others in the indie’s cast include Emmy Rossum, Michael Imperioli, Ariana Greenblatt, Rosemarie DeWitt, Chris Bauer, Fina Strazza, Fisher Stevens, and Ricky Staffieri.

Rubber Hut is produced by Elizabeth Woodward for Willa (The Voice of Hind Rajab, The Fence), Tara Sheffer for Stone Fruit Productions (A Lien), and Gray Organschi’s Unlikeable Woman Productions, in association with Desmar, The Godmother, Shortwave, and Madhouse Films. Harrison made his Broadway debut in Punch, from Pulitzer Prize-winner James Graham, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award in the category of Best Actor in a Play. Screen credits for the actor include James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown, Daisy Jones and The Six, Manhunt, and most recently, Hulu’s Murdaugh: Death in the Family.
