Ray Mendoza-Directed ‘Blood On The Promontory’ Casts 5

EXCLUSIVE: The Ray Mendoza-directed Western drama feature Blood On The Promontory has added 5 actors to its growing cast: Kevin Rankin (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Noel Fisher (Dark Winds), Tokola Black Elk (Happy’s Place), Dallas Roberts (3:10 to Yuma), and Spencer Jarman (The Promise Land).

They join the previously announced cast, which includes Sam Worthington, Jai Courtney, Jack Quaid, Jaeden Martell, and LaMonica Garrett. Character descriptions for all cast are being kept under wraps.

Written by Evan Cooper, Blood On The Promontory finds five convicts trying to escape through the mountains following a violent train robbery, while shackled together by foot.

Nina Yang Bongiovi, Paul Hadad, Glenn Kleczkowski, and Mark Gillard are producing, with Danny Peykoff exec producing, and Peykoff’s Big Newport Studios as the production company. WME Independent is handling sales.

Rankin can be seen in recurring roles on many television series, including ABC’s RJ Decker, CBS’s East New York, Netflix’s Umbrella Academy, FX’s Justified, HBO’s Big Love and Six Feet Under, and NBC’s Friday Night Lights. He was a series regular on Claws for TNT. On the feature side, he has appeared in Dallas Buyers Club, White House Down, and Pawn Shop Chronicles. Rankin starred in the film El Camino after his recurring arc on the final season of AMC’s Breaking Bad. He is represented by Gersh, Haven Entertainment, and Yorn Levine.

Fisher is repped by Paradigm Talent Agency and Industry Entertainment.

Best known for his roles in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone and 1883, Elk can currently be seen starring opposite Reba McEntire in NBC’s half-hour comedy Happy’s Place. He can also be seen starring in Peter Berg’s American Primeval, a limited series for Netflix. Elk got his start in Wind River from Sheridan and went on to star in The BygoneThe Dark Foe, and later Valley of the Gods and Thirteen Minutes. He has also appeared in Steven Spielberg’s Into the West and HBO’s Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Elk is repped by Elevate Entertainment and Meyer and Downs.

Roberts can currently be seen as Daniel Manning in HBO’s The Gilded Age and Dr. Jerome Oziel in Ryan Murphy’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story for Netflix. Additional recent TV credits include Showtime’s American Rust, David E. Kelley’s Big Sky, Netflix’s Insatiable, ABC’s American Crime, NBC’s Chicago PD, Chicago Med, and Law & Order: SVU, AMC’s The Walking Dead, and CBS’ The Good Wife.  Dallas is represented by Stewart Talent and Circle Management + Production.

Jarman began his career in Portland’s independent film scene, and, after appearing on NBC’s Grimm, he trained in Los Angeles while expanding into writing and producing. His recent credits include The Chosen and a recurring role as Shem in The Promised Land. He is repped by Talent Management Group, Johnson Talent Agency, Signature Models and Talent, and TNG Agency.
