EXCLUSIVE: Welsh-born Jessica Sula (Michael) is set as a series regular opposite Stephen Fry in The Interrogator, Fox‘s upcoming drama series.

Sula will play Astrid in the series, joining previously announced series regulars Jenna Elfman, Luke Kleintank and Michael Beach.

The Interrogator, from Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, received a 12-episode straight-to-series order for the 2026-27 season earlier this year.

The Interrogator centers on former MI6 agent Conrad Henry (Fry) and his elite team. When conventional methods have failed, Henry’s quirky charm, superior intellect and mind-bending behavioral maneuvers make him the only man able to lockpick the minds of the world’s most dangerous criminals. 

Sula’s Astrid is a criminal psychologist, who’s sharp, funny and idealistic, and though a novice to the spy game, a natural. She’s the somewhat estranged daughter to Henry, and it’s clear she inherited her father’s natural ability to read people as well as his gift for guile – she could have been a successful con artist. She’s a master shapeshifter and manipulator, though she only uses those powers for good.

The pilot script was written by Fry, with revisions from Matt Pyken as well as William Harper whose contribution was considered key in securing the greenlight. Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie are executive producers and showrunners. Fry stars in the series and executive produces alongside Harper and Paul McGuigan, who will also direct. Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman and Miriam Mintz, Matt Pyken, Neil Burger and Anonymous Content also serve as executive producers. The Interrogator is produced by Lionsgate Television and Fox Entertainment Studios.
