EXCLUSIVE: Éanna Hardwicke (A Very Royal Scandal) has landed a role alongside Channing Tatum and Eve Hewson in Isle of Man, Amazon MGM Studios‘ film based on the motorsports event of the same name.
The Isle of Man TT predates Formula 1, World Endurance, and MotoGP as the world’s oldest continuously running motorsport event.
Character details and the film’s logline are being kept under wraps. Reid Carolin is directing from a script written with Jason Keller (Ford v Ferrari, Apple TV’s Stick) and Bryan Johnson. Producers include Tatum and Carolin’s Free Association, Brad Pitt’s Plan B, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, and Keller.
Alongside their work on the narrative Isle of Man film, the producers hatched a forthcoming docuseries filmed during last year’s TT Races with never-before-seen access to the riders and the races via an exclusive partnership with event promoters. Additional producers on that project include Box to Box Films (Drive to Survive, Full Swing) and Mediawan.
Hardwicke is a BAFTA-nominated Irish actor who was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his work in BBC’s The Sixth Commandment, also scoring the Lead Actor award at the Irish Film and Television Awards. Also known for roles in the romantic drama series Normal People and Amazon MGM’s A Very Royal Scandal, he can currently be seen starring in the films Saipan and No Ordinary Heist.
Upcoming, Hardwicke will be seen in David Turpin’s Ancestors and Make Ends Meat, the follow-up to Hoard from director Luna Carmoon. He is represented by Curtis Brown, Susannah Norris Agency, UTA, and Multitude Media.
