EXCLUSIVE: Young up-and-comers Lilou Lang (Free Bert) and Lorelei Olivia Mote (The Best Christmas Pageant Ever) have landed roles alongside Bill Hader in They Know, the horror film for MRC, marking his feature directorial debut.
Lang and Mote will play the daughters of characters played by Hader and Linda Cardellini, who just recently closed her deal, as we first reported. The project marks the former’s first-ever role in a feature film.
Recently kicking off production in Los Angeles, They Know centers on a divorced dad (Hader) who grows suspicious that his ex-wife (Cardellini) is secretly dating a mysterious man who is having a strange influence on their children (Lang, Mote).
MRC is the studio financing the project, which is based on a script from Hader, stemming from an original story he created with his Barry collaborator Duffy Boudreau. Bob Graf and Hader are set to produce under the latter’s Hanarply banner, with Alyssa Donovan co-producing.
Booking one major role after another recently, as she embarks on the very beginning of her screen career, Lang recently made her television acting debut in Free Bert, playing the daughter of comedian Bert Kreischer in the Netflix comedy inspired by his life, which is heading into its second season. She is repped by Coast to Coast Talent Group and Schreck Rose Dapello.
Previously in film, Mote has been seen starring alongside Pete Holmes and Judy Greer in Lionsgate’s The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. In television, she’s had small roles on Unprisoned, Daisy Jones & The Six, and American Horror Stories. She is repped by Paradigm, Aspire Talent Management, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
