Steven Knight‘s Oasis documentary will hit theaters in September, featuring the first joint interview with the Gallagher brothers in more than 25 years.

Disney has officially confirmed the doc and said it will drop for a limited theatrical run including IMAX on September 11, before moving to Disney+ later this year.

Reports first emerged last year of the Peaky Blinders creator’s documentary about one of the most famous British rock bands and their reunion tour.

Directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, the feature charts one of the most anticipated rock ‘n’ roll comebacks in a generation. It is described by its creators as an “unapologetically uplifting account of arguably the biggest musical event of 2025, capturing the experience and emotions of the band and their fans across the world.” Knight has caught footage of rehearsal, backstage and onstage, as well as the first joint interview with the brothers in more than 25 years.

Knight said: “I genuinely cannot wait for the world to see this film. I believe it captures the spirit and emotion of a global cultural moment and does justice to the wit and genius of two exceptional people. I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever. It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope.” 

There had previouisly been reports in the UK press that Oasis had set plans to document their reunion tour for cinema audiences. They played 17 gigs last year, beginning in Cardiff in July. Tickets were in such demand that many fans were left paying hundreds of dollars more than anticipated due to “dynamic pricing” on sales websites, a practice that was subsequently investigated by a government watchdog.

The as-yet-untitled doc comes from Magna Studios and Sony Music Vision. Producers are Sam Bridger and Guy Heeley. Executive producers include Kate Shepherd, Marisa Clifford, Tom Mackay, Krista Wegener, Isabel Davis and Tim O’Shea, with Oscar winning sound mixers James Mather and Tarn Willers along with cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos leading the creative technical team. Further details, including cinema listings, will be announced soon.
