Sony Pictures Entertainment’s full year sales were flat at around $9.917B for the year ending March 2026 as anime titles including Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie – Infinity Castle helped to offset a one-time loss due to the shutdown of VFX unit Pixomondo. 

According to results released in Tokyo on March 8, SPE’s operating income decreased by 11% to $687M over the full financial year, mostly due to a non-recurring, non-cash impairment related to winding down the Pixomondo business. Lower theatrical revenues outside of the Japanese anime segment also contributed to the decline. 

Excluding the Pixomondo shutdown, operating income was up 11% in USD terms to $858M and increased by 13% in Yen terms to JPY132B, mostly due to the strength of the Crunchyroll business, although an increase in series deliveries in the television division also made a contribution. 

In addition to strong worldwide global theatrical revenues for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle, Crunchyroll received a boost from paid subscriber growth. The studio’s theatrical hits also included GOAT, 28 Years Later and Japanese anime title Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.
