Here's What's New on Netflix in May 2026

Laughs, tears, and thrills are coming to Netflix in May, as several new titles arrive, including documentaries, movies, mysteries, and reality series. Comedy legend Martin Short reflects on his life and career in Marty, Life Is Short. Books like Remarkably Bright Creatures and Lord of the Flies get the adaptation treatment. And stars from shows like Love Is Blind and Love Island try out reality TV again on Season 4 of Perfect Match.

Here's what's coming to Netflix, as well as leaving the platform, in May.

Here are the Netflix originals coming in May 2026

The first week of May will see the release of the first TV adaptation of Lord of the Flies on May 4 and Sally Field leading Remarkably Bright Creatures on May 8. Love Is Blind fans can be a fly on the wall of the dating scene in Poland to see if the singles looking for a match will find one. Netflix will also release installments of its Untold documentary series in May, beginning with the story of U.K. football player Jamie Vardy. And later in the month, you can tune in to The Boroughs, a supernatural mystery series set at a retirement community from the creators of Stranger Things.

Each month, Netflix rolls out titles as new ones come in. Catch up on the hilarious documentary parody series Documentary Now! before Seasons 1-4 leave the streamer on May 9. On the movie side, we'd suggest the raunchy comedy Joy Ride, Britney Spears' coming-of-age drama Crossroads, and John Carney's charming musical Sing Street ahead of the Irish filmmaker's new film, Power Ballad.
