New reports have just come out that suggest Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s appointment to Trade Envoy happened without any kind of ‘vetting’ or ‘due diligence’ because it was the will of the monarch at the time, for she was “very keen” for her son to take an interest in British interests.

This news comes via a written statement issued to Parliament by Trade Minister Chris Bryant.

He writes, “We have found no evidence that a formal due diligence or vetting process was undertaken. There is also no evidence that this was considered.”

In regards to this he made one thing clear and that is that, “this is understandable since this new appointment was a continuation of the Royal Family's involvement in trade and investment promotion work following the Duke of Kent's decision to relinquish his duties as Vice-Chairman of the Overseas Trade Board.”

“The Government is cooperating fully with Thames Valley Police on their investigation into Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and possible misconduct in public office.”

For those unversed with the details surrounding this case and why the ex-Duke spent over 11 hours in jail over. What's caused Andrew to face such a potential fate, is connected to the reasons he got his titles, his dukedom and his honors revoked, which is his connection to a child sex offender like Jeffrey Epstein. But this current issue is more of an allegation, that claims he engaged in misconduct while in public office, as a Trade Envoy to the UK.
