Prince Harry’s thoughts about re-entering Australia after ‘unhappy’ 2018 tour

Prince Harry and his wife intend to carry out a series of solo engagements in cities around Australia, like Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney and some say he is sweating because of how “make or break” this seems. Despite the private nature of this tour some are calling this a “quasi-royal” visit as well.

A well-placed source even spoke to New Idea saying, “Harry and Meghan Australia 2026 could be very different to their tour in 2018. They’ll be all smiles – but make no mistake, they both realise this tour is ‘make or break’ for their brand.” At this point in time, “the stakes could not be higher.”

Another concern is also about the reception they’ll receive because back in 2018 when they made their royal tour, the Duchess later called it ‘unhappy’ due to her own emotional state at the time.

As the source puts it, “There’s every chance that won’t be the case this time, especially after Meghan later admitted to being ‘unhappy’ during that tour. Aussies don’t forget that! Meghan will be glossing over it, but Harry will be concerned about their reception. He’s warned Meghan that a lot rests on this being a success.”

Prince Harry however is busy being stressed because “he is very aware that his father and brother will be watching” his speaking engagement. “There will be several royal noses out of joint about them undertaking yet another ‘faux-royal’ tour.” Still, “it’s a risk Harry and Meghan are willing to take – for the sake of their brand.”

In the eyes of some, this tour, albeit for private reasons will serve as a litmus test for their future, as claimed by Royal editor Emily Nash, writing on HELLO!'s Royal Club.

He said, “How well the Sussexes do or don’t go down with the Australian public will be a real litmus test for what else they may do this year, which will likely include a return to Africa at some point. It will also be something for the wider royal family to watch. As a Realm nation, with King Charles as its Head of State, Australia receives fairly regular visits from members of The Firm.”

What Does Meghan Hope To Achieve in Australia?

It’s said, “Meghan’s been very hopeful that Australians will greet them with the same warmth they received on their visits to Jordan, Nigeria and Colombia in the last few years. She genuinely believes the Aussies will be happy to see them again. She sees this as a fresh start and is devoting all her attention to making As Ever a global success.”

“She secured 12 new As Ever Aussie trademarks ahead of this trip. With the end of their lucrative Netflix and Spotify deals, they both need As Ever to succeed now.”
