Iran warns of conflict ‘beyond the region’ if US and Israel resume strikes

Iran’s parliamentary Revolutionary Guard released a firm statement threatening to extend the war beyond the Middle East conflict if the US and Israel resume attacks against Tehran.

According to a statement reported by the country’s news agency: “ The regional war that was promised will this time be extended beyond the region, and our crushing blows will bring you to ruin in places you cannot imagine.”

The feedback came shortly after some mixed signals from the Trump administration on the proposed deal to resolve the Iran war. On Tuesday, Trump told lawmakers at the White House to terminate the deal “very quickly” adding that Iran is cooperating to reach an agreement.

US Vice President JD Vance said in a separate press briefing that neither Trump nor Tehran wanted the military campaign to start again. He maintains that negotiations between the US and Iran are in a “pretty good” place.

“This is not a forever war. We’re going to take care of business and come home,” Vance said Tuesday, when asked about the length of the conflict.

The US president further interpreted that he had been just hours away to finalize a major scheduled attack on Iran on Tuesday. The geopolitical crisis has been stuck for weeks, while a ceasefire remains active.

It has been observed that both sides are struggling to gain control over the significant Strait of Hormuz. It is pertinent to note that 20% of the world’s oil and liquified natural gas flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

Notably, major shipping traffic ceased since the war began on Feb.28. Trump has allegedly threatened further military action against Iran, as the conflict drags on far longer past the administration’s former deadline, a situation now negatively overseen by a majority of Americans.
