Princess Diana’s brother Charles Spencer has shared an exciting news nearly a week after his marriage with partner archaeologist and podcast co-host Professor Cat Jarman.
Spencer and his new wife said in a joint statement: “We both feel so incredibly lucky to have progressed from being colleagues, to friendship, to deep love and connection.
“Each stage of our relationship has been underpinned by laughter and we share a passion for life.”
In a social media post, Prince William and Harry’s uncle said “15 May 2026 - the happiest day ever.”
Spencer went on saying, “A very close friend said to me, months ago: ‘The thing about Cat is, she’d want to be with you if you lived in a hut.’
“Little did I know she’d also be happy to marry me in a desert.”
Charles Spencer’s marriage with Jarman marks his fourth.
A week after his marriage, Charles Spencer shared that the Duc de Chevreuse has returned to Althorp House, after an inspection by experts in London.
“This life size portrait - by the Flemish master, Frans Pourbus the Younger (1569-1622) - is of a famous, early 17th century French aristocrat with royal blood.
“When England’s Charles I needed to wed the French princess, Henrietta Maria, this gentleman stood in the Protestant king’s place at the Roman Catholic wedding ceremony at @notredamedeparis , in 1625.
“I love the adoring dog looking up at his master, here. This is recorded as being a Talbot - which seems to have some blood connection to the ancient Beauceron breed, also famed for its loyalty.”
“So good to have this striking portrait back in its proper place, in Althorp’s Picture Gallery.”
