Parts of Britain are set to swelter in this summer's first heatwave, where temperatures can reach a scorching 33°C.
Amid a searing heatwave on Bank Holiday, UK dog owners are urged to follow a set of rules.
They are a key in keeping their furry friends safe and sound, according to animal charity the RSPCA.
1. Walk them in early morning or late evening.
2. Check pavement by first putting your hands on it for hotness.
3. Never leave dogs in vehicles.
In a warning by Steve Kocher, Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster, he said UK temperature records could be broken over the bank holiday weekend.
"Temperatures will climb through the weekend, especially in the south, where 30C is likely to be recorded on Saturday and 32C on Sunday."
"Temperatures are forecast to peak on Monday when we could see 33°C recorded in southern England and the Midlands."
"It is likely that the May and Spring UK temperature records will be broken over the Bank Holiday weekend, with forecast temperatures surpassing the existing record of 32.8C."
"As well as it being hot, there will be lots of dry and sunny weather for much of the UK," he continues.
"There will, however, be more clouds and some showers in Northern Ireland and western Scotland through the weekend," Kocher concludes.
