The Princess of Wales has just officially landed in Italy, marking her first solo overseas visit since her health battle.
In her two-day visit, Kate is said to focus on her mission to promote early childhood development.
According to multiple reports, the future queen wants to turn her work into a global movement.
Echoing her energy, a royal aide ahead of the trip offered a glimpse to People.
“She's energised, she's enthused, she's excited,” the source added.
“She’s looking forward to seeing Reggio Emilia in action and meeting the people here too.”
In doing so, Kate's first stop will be Reggio Emilia, an Italian city known for its educational philosophy focused on young children.
Her zeal for her long-running work on children sharpened during her battle against cancer, aides say.
“This is an important step in the princess's recovery journey. She takes great joy from this work,” a royal source shared.
“I think it is only right that her first international trip since her illness is one that is focused on an issue she is committed to championing for decades to come.”
The visit to Italy is the Princess of Wales's first step toward fully returning to her royal duties.
