AMD Ryzen 7 5800X and Nvidia RTX 5060 combo is only $439 ...

The PC-building hobby we all hold near and dear is going through a bit of turbulence at the moment, but there are still opportunities to build a custom rig. We've spotted Newegg offering a CPU+GPU combo bundle for just $439, featuring an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X paired with Nvidia's RTX 5060 GPU. That's $150 saved on a great budget setup, and it even comes with a free CPU air cooler.

The Newegg listing actually shows $489 as the price for this bundle, but there's a red "Discount available" button right below the product name. Clicking that unlocks an additional $50 promo code after you enter your email address, bringing the price down to $439. The retailer is also throwing in a very respectable Gamdias BOREAS M2-510WH air cooler worth $35 for free, technically making this bundle cost only $404.

As for the parts themselves, the Ryzen 7 5800X may be six years old at this point, but it's no slouch when it comes to gaming, especially 1080p competitive gaming, where the RTX 5060 also shines. Back when we tested this CPU, it performed at the top of our charts, and its 8-core config is still valuable today. The Zen 3 architecture is efficient, and the AM4 socket has now earned legendary status for its longevity.

One hidden benefit of going with AM4 is the lack of support for DDR5 — by locking yourself into DDR4, you'll save a lot of money on similarly capacity kits. For instance, we were able to find a T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB kit for $ 130 onNewegg; for the same price, you're only getting a single 8GB DDR5 stick. Yes, even DDR4 is overpriced right now, but for gaming, especially on an older platform, it won't make much of a difference as long as you go for a decent CL16 kit at DDR4-3200 or DDR4-3600.

Now, the RTX 5060 needs no introduction. In our testing, it was actually the best 1080p GPU for performance per dollar, but its measly 8GB of VRAM can choke it in some modern heavyweight titles. As long as you're not a ray tracing aficionado, the RTX 5060 with its 3,840 CUDA Cores clocked at up to 2.5 GHz is enough for gaming. Nvidia's driver suite is also very rich with DLSS 4.5, helping you go over the line where the silicon itself can't keep up.

All in all, we're looking at a solid bundle that technically comes out to just over $400 for a CPU and GPU combo fromNewegg, just enough to get you started on your PC-building journey. And, hey, that's an impressive sentence to utter in 2026, given the AI boom's insatiable appetite for production lines. Things are slowly getting better, with some exciting new developments that could shake the industry, but till then, these deals are all we've got.
