With prices still at or near all-time highs and no relief in sight, users have almost no choice but to turn away and upgrade to something else. We’ve seen several laptop deals lately, and this one from B&H Photo is a doozy. For only $1,499.99 ($500/25% off) you get the 16” Acer Predator Helios Neo IPS gaming laptop with its 16-inch 2560x1600 IPS panel, fast latest Intel Core Ultra 9 275 HX mobile processor, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, 1TB of storage, and the pièce de résistance for a gaming laptop, the Nvidia RTX 5070 8GB graphics card for desktop-level performance anywhere.

Starting with the brain of the bunch, you get the high-end mobile processor in the 24-core (8p/16e) Core Ultra 9 275HX. The eight performance cores run up to 5.4 GHz, while the efficiency cores run up to 4.6 GHz, which is plenty of speed for any activity, including gaming. The 55W base TDP (about 70-80W nominally) should happily run without thermal throttling, so you get the most out of your system.

Check out this deal on B&H Photo

The Predator Helios 16 AI also comes with 32GB of DDR5-6400 memory in two user-replaceable 16GB CSO-DIMMs. If, for some reason, you run out of 32GB of RAM, you can upgrade to 64GB yourself. Even though this isn’t AMD, it’s nice to see a laptop with decent memory speeds and two sticks of RAM, as sometimes, to cut costs, it’s one stick or slower speeds. But the Helios Neo 16 doesn’t skimp on that front. For storage, Acer throws in a 1TB PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 SSD. If you need more, there is another empty M.2 socket inside for a simple drop-in upgrade without touching your OS drive.

Next is the venerable RTX 5070 graphics card, which comes in at 907 MHz base and 1,425 MHz boost with a TDP of about 50W. The 8GB of dedicated GDDR7 vRAM and 4,608 CUDA cores provide an excellent experience at the panel resolution (2560x1600), whether you're gaming or a creative. Just be aware that 8GB can become a bottleneck in a few vRAM-heavy modern AAA games when settings are cranked to Ultra. The video card feeds the GSync-enabled 16-inch 2560x1600 IPS LCD with a fast 240 Hz refresh rate and 3ms response time, which all but eliminates ghosting. It also displays 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, which is good for the professional crowd.

Connectivity on the laptop is plentiful and consists of two USB-C ports (one Thunderbolt 4, which supports power delivery; the other runs at Gen 2 speeds and supports Video Alt Mode and power delivery up to 90W). You also get three Type-A ports (2x Gen 2, 1x Gen 1) with an additional HDMI (v2.1) output. It also has a 2.5 GbE, 1/8-inch/3.5mm headphone/mic/output jack, and a single memory card slot (mSD, mSDHC, mSDXC). It also comes with integrated Wi-Fi 6E and BT 5.4, a user-facing 1080p webcam, a built-in chiclet-style customizable RGB keyboard, and a copy of Windows 11 Home.

If you’re in the market for a powerful laptop that can pound through modern games, and frankly any other task, with ease and do plenty of other work, don’t pass up this B&H deal. Act while you can as for $1,499.99 (25% / $500 off); it will sell out fast.
