Iran has executed a man convicted of espionage and intelligence cooperation with Israel, News.Az reports, citing Al Jazeera.
The man, identified as Ehsan Afrashteh, was hanged earlier on Wednesday after Iran’s Supreme Court upheld his death sentence, according to local media.
Iranian authorities said Afrashteh had allegedly received training from Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad, in Nepal and was accused of providing sensitive national intelligence to Israel.
According to reports, Afrashteh was arrested in 2024 and sentenced to death in 2025 on espionage-related charges.
