Ukraine is establishing new unmanned aerial systems (UAV) formations along its border with Belarus, while also reinforcing existing units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces already deployed in the area.
Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi announced the development on his Telegram channel, News.Az reports.
“Special attention was paid to strengthening the defence of the state border in the northern direction. To improve the effectiveness of border coverage, a decision was made to form new units of unmanned systems,” Syrskyi stated.
He added that the newly created formations will be fully equipped to perform their assigned operational tasks.
“They will be equipped with the necessary weapons, equipment, and other resources to carry out assigned tasks,” he said. “At the same time, we continue to enhance the capabilities of the units that are already operating in this area.”
