Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has announced the detention of a vessel identified as Epaminodes, claiming it was suspected of cooperating with the US military.
According to Iranian authorities, the vessel had been under intelligence monitoring and surveillance for the past six months and had reportedly made multiple trips to US ports during that period, News.Az reports, citing Fars News Agency.
The IRGC Navy said the ship was detained due to what it described as repeated maritime violations and its failure to comply with warnings issued by Iranian naval forces.
Iranian officials also alleged that the vessel was linked to cooperation with what they referred to as the “terrorist US military”, though no further details were immediately provided regarding the nature of the alleged cooperation.
